Something doesn't sit right. Something is bothering me. Its not the monotonous crackling of the static on the television screens in front of me. It's also not the rattling of Violetta's nightly routine, cleaning her guns with pesticide. Nor is it the stuttered exclamations uttered my an excited Malachi as he pages through mountains of notes.

No, it is something from some nights past.

Why did the Nosferatu deliver Greymalkin? Didn't Father Carlito say they had him? I negotiated a deal with the Sabbat, not the Nosferatu! So why the hell did the Nosferatu deliver him? And how did they know where my Haven was? There is something sinister brewing underground. I'm starting to see that Greymalkin might not have been working unilaterally. The poor creature might only have been an unknowing pawn.

The Nosferatu are up to something. And the Sabbat are involved. There is something devious brewing underground.

In the end, it doesn't really matter. They'll all lie to you, and then they'll die.

Nothing means anything to them.

Dear Jeremy,

I must admit I don't really know much and I'm not really kept in the loop of all the politics that goes on down here, and all the information that spreads around. I do know that we, as a clan, seem to know alot about what happens around the city - probably more than any other clan. It's our thing, skulking about.

I wouldn't be surprised if we knew that you've negotiated a deal with the Sabbat. We've got eyes and ears around the city. We seem to know a whole damn lot. I think it was better that we (rather than the Sabbat) handed him over to you. Maybe it was just the high-up Nosferatu trying to warn you that you're not being as careful as you think.

I share your feelings though - I really don't know who's working with the Sabbat anymore, and to what end. With Greymalkin having been caught working for the Sabbat, and the Sabbat suddenly appearing at Lola's party, and you making secret deals with them, there certainly seems to be more spies amongst us. There may be still more amongst us, and I hope that you will not be as careless as to become one of them.

As much as I care for you, Jeremy, if you betray me and mine, we will find you and you will be punished for it. People are already talking of how the Prince plays favorites with you. Don't back our Prince into a corner where she will be forced to uphold the traditions and punish you.

Sincerely,
John Riviera

I dispise the Sabbat! I hate them as much as other kindred do! But you are a fool if you trust the upper members of your clan to have righteous motive (with the exception of Tom). Gerymalkin is not the only traitor among them!

As for the nature of my deal with the Sabbat... be careful about making assumptions. There are issues that extend far beyond petty sect quarrels. The prince trusts me, and that may be because I've stood by her side when everyone else was preparing to to change ships. So don't you dare call that favouritism!

Dear Jeremy,

People always come running to the Nosferatu asking for information on this and that, but then they turn around and complain about what we do to get what we know.

Sometimes, some of us need to get dirty to get what we know. It's our thing, it's what we're best at.

Don't be stupid and think that because we have people in the Sabbat, that we like what they do and what they say.

Don't be stupid and think that just because the sabbat say that their are bigger things happening that you need to run away from your friends into the wolves den shouting that the sky is falling.

Any deal made with the sabbat is a bad deal. We've got enough strength amongst our friends to do anything without going to the sabbat.

Please don't be stupid. The sabbat are just monsters. We're better than that.

Your friend,
John Riviera

For someone with no information on the matter, you make a lot of assumptions.

If Greymalkin made so many altruistic sacrifices for the good of the Camarilla, I'd sure as hell like to see them! If anything he helped the Sabbat. all I remember is the horrible betrayl at Elysium. Show me these fabled boons he granted us, and my opion of him might be changed. Until then he's a fucking worm who sold us out for thirty pieces of silver.

Dear Jeremy,

What of our sires boons? I know my sire was sent to infiltrate the sabbat, and look where that got him. The only boons our sires gave was us, and I don't think that was quite what they had planned.

I'll be honest, I don't know what information Greymalkin got. I don't even know if he did get anything useful. But I know that he, like you are about to do, dealt with the sabbat in the hopes of getting something useful.

I'm sure that the sabbat weren't going to give out secrets to a primogen member of the Camarilla so easily, at least until they believed he was working for them.

If anything, it was you charging into Elysium, breaking our sacred traditions by openly firing at Greymalkin that ruined any chances of him getting anything useful out of the sabbat.

If there's anyone to blame that we didn't get anything useful, it's you. If you had followed our traditions and the way we were taught, you could've found out that Greymalkin was a double agent without completely ruining his cover. But instead you found justice in breaking our laws, which is exactly what the sabbat do.

Stop acting like them. Stop making deals with them. I don't know if I can help you if your own prince is forced to turn her back on you.

Sincerely,
John Riviera

I think I finally understand. You really didn't know? You really had no idea, did you?

I guess I can't blame you in that case.

Let me give you this little piece of information in the hope that it will help you understand exactly what happend that night at the trial. High profile trials are like magic shows. Its all about the distraction. Distract the audience enough and you can make an elephant disappear.

Oh, You poor fool. I really do understand your misplaced anger now. But be careful when accusing allies of being enemies, lest you confuse the two.
